Norton disk doctor 8.0
You need one or two DVDs or a bunch of CDs too numerous to think about! Message Edited by huwyngr on 12-16-2008 09:40 PM If not please do one or the other without delay because if you do have a problem with the hard drive and can't access it then you can't make the disks! IMPORTANT but not related - did you make a set of recovery disks using the Recovery Manager when you got your computer, or did you buy them from HP (under $20 delivered).

If so what does it say about them? So stop and back out when you get to Do you want to restore. Start the HP Recovery Manager from the START / Programs menu and see if you get an error message BUT don't run it or if you go to far you will lose your personal files by restoring the system. Since you have an HP or Compaq I know from experience this is so from two I have worked on for friends. These days many computers do not come with a CD/DVD to use to restore your system to factory condition but have a hidden partition that can only be accessed by a utility on the computer for this purpose.
Do you have two hard drives in it - or one physical hard drive partitioned into two logical drives?
